So I have been at new job now for just over two weeks and on a project for a week. I'm definitely settling in and getting used to it but it's a far cry from my old job. Now I have to really do work and meet client expectations! Tonight I left the office at 7.30 and went on a date with a nice chap. Well the date actually went really well. I had to cut it short cause the damn car park locks at 10:30 so had to go rescue my car - ok so I may have had 3 bottles of cider so may have had to be careful plod didn't get hold of me. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. I got on the circle line with plenty of time to spare until coming into Farringdon the train ground to a halt. 20 minutes in and the driver explained the signals had all gone Pete Tong and we were going to have to reverse to barbican! So off we set. Then after a short journey we stopped again. Turns out now there's a big fault and we would have to decamp the train! All I could think is I hope someone has died as I have to work out how to get home! Well after a little reflection I really hope someone hasn't died... I don't like idea of people under trains, or electrocuted! So I decided to borris bike it to kings cross. Ok so I may have a crap sense of direction and ended up near Oxford street... Thankfully I know where kings cross is from there, until I had to cycle for an extra 30 mins to find a cycle park. So the aim was the 10pm train to get me home - now here I am sweating like a peado in a playground, on the 11.06 train home knowing I will have to get a taxi home and probably cycle to the train station in the morning. What a pisser. I may just us my "discretion" and charge the entire affair to the company. After all had I not worked till 7:30 this would never have happened :) I'm liking this new philosophy of if I can't change it then I may as well enjoy it... This must be how the rest of society survives the drudgery of life - well that or copious amounts of drink and drugs!
